サイロンの攻撃から796日後。
NCP（ニュー・カプリカ警察）卒業式でのダック自爆テロによって、多数が死亡。サイロンは首謀者を探るべく重要人物を勾留する。その中にはローラの姿もあった。ギャラクティカ。ニュー・カプリカの人々を救出するプランが話し合われるなか、アダマが人型サイロンである監禁中のシャロンを将校にし、地上との連絡係にすると決めたことからリーは憤慨。ふたりはそれを皮切りに人類の存続について口論となる。
