心理学者エリック・メースンは妻の浮気相手を殺害する計画を立てた。それは愛犬である２匹のドーベルマンに、ある言葉を聞くと人を噛み殺す攻撃命令を覚えさせるというものだった。コロンボは何者かがドーベルマンを使って殺させたとにらみ、その言葉が何であるかを突き止めようとする。
