無責任な2代目社長エリックに対し、やり手のマネージャー、ポール・ハンロンは彼を殺して会社を乗っ取ることを計画。氷の塊でプールにいるエリックを殴殺すると、その氷をプールに投げ込んで凶器を隠滅する。コロンボはハンロンが怪しいとにらむが、ハンロンには強力なアリバイがあった。
