仕事でテキサス行きの長距離列車に乗ったエル。走行中、飛び込み自殺があって列車が線路上で停止するが、その間に同じ車両に乗り合わせたブライアーがレオという男の声にそそのかされ、警備員を射殺。奪った銃で数名の乗客を人質にとり「権威ある者」との交渉を要求する。
信念とは、心の中にただ宿るだけでなく心を支配する思いのことだ。
