「キーストーン・キラー」を名乗る連続殺人犯から、元BAUのライアンに手紙が届けられる。その封筒には、18年間犯行をストップしていたキーストーン・キラーが活動を再開することをにおわせる物が入っていた。ギデオンはアドバイザーとして、かつてキーストーン・キラーを追っていたライアンの同行を認める。
