ビアギッテ内閣はかねてから懸案事項だった戦闘機購入の最終段階を迎えていたが、ビアギッテは土壇場で保留を決定、再調査を言い渡す。１３００億の投資に慎重になった結果だが、締めつけが強くなったビアギッテのやり方に各大臣からも不満の声が上がっていた。
