海兵隊員のグリム二等軍曹が、腹部に大きな穴があいた状態で遺体で見つかる。彼は武器係で、ボクシングチームに所属していたことや、現場に落ちていた部品から凶器がクワンティコにあった武器であると判明。自宅から押収したパソコンはハードディスクがフォーマットされていたが、アビーが内容を復元、そこには自宅の床にずらりと武器が並んだ写真があった。
