ジェフから友人のリチャード･ルイスが腎臓移植が必要というニュースを聞き、ラリーはリチャードを訪ねる。リチャードには唯一の家族で、いとこのルイス･ルイスがいたが、生きている間は腎臓は提供しないという偏屈な男だった。しょうがないリチャードはドナーが現れるまで待つしかない。シェリルに説得されラリーは、リチャードのため、嫌々腎臓移植の適合検査は受けることに承諾する。
