ジョンがキャメロンが隠し持っていたターミネーター、ヴィックのチップを解析すると、ヴィックがバーバラという女性と結婚生活を送っていることがわかる。さらに森の中で女が殺された映像を見て、サラたちは死体を捜しに行く。しかし発見した死体はバーバラではなく、ジェシカ・ペックのものであった。ジェシカは、バーバラのARTIE（自動リアルタイム交通情報交換システム）プロジェクトに反対するロビイスト。ARTIEはあらゆる交差点と市役所のデータセンターをつなぐ光ファイバー網で、今は試験段階だが、州全体に広がれば、人々は監視下に置かれることになる。タークがスカイネットの頭脳なら、アーティーはスカイネットの神経になる恐れがあった。
