生き残ったレジスタンスの救出にカプリカへ降り立ったカーラたちは、サイロンの攻撃に応戦するが、しばらくして突然砲撃がやみ静かになる。偵察に出たところ、サイロンは皆姿を消していた。やがて大統領選挙当日。当初、支持率に伸び悩んでいたバルターだが、新たに発見された惑星「ニュー・カプリカ」への入植を訴えて票を伸ばし、次第にリードを広げていた。ローラの劣勢を見てとった側近のトーリーは、あらかじめ立てていた計画に従ってタイ大佐にある指示を出す。
