「アクエリアス 刑事サム・ホディアック」のデヴィッド・ドゥカヴニーの出世作といえば、「X-ファイル」。そして「X-ファイル」でデヴィッドの無二の相棒を演じたのが、ジリアン・アンダーソンだ。
ジリアンは、米国生まれの俳優には珍しく英国アクセントを自由に操り、英国のドラマに出演歴も多い。最近では、英ドラマの「THE FALL 警視ステラ・ギブソン」に主演している。
一方、現在はバンド活動に夢中と言われるデヴィッドだが、意外にもかつての相棒の主演作はチェック済だとか。「『THE FALL 警視ステラ・ギブソン』を見ていたよ。素晴らしい作品だと思ったね。僕は米国に住んでいるから、英国のドラマには縁がなかったんだけど、全体的に英国製の番組はクオリティが高いと認めている」
2016年1月には、全米で「X-ファイル」新シリーズの放送がスタートする。かつては不仲が噂された二人だが、今となっては「友人」と認め合う間柄。相棒の仕事に敬意を払う良い関係を築いているようだ。
