「NCIS ネイビー犯罪捜査班」のポーリー・ペレットが、ハリウッドの自宅前でホームレス男に襲われたと、自身のツイッターで明かした。
ツイッターで発表した文章によれば、事件が発生したのは、11月12日夕方。ポーリーが、ハリウッドの自宅前の道を新しく買ったゲストハウス（来客用の家）に向かおうと歩いていたところを、いきなり見知らぬホームレス男に襲われた。乱暴に腕を押さえつけた男は、ポーリーの鼻と額を殴打。そして「俺はウィリアム***だ。覚えおけ！お前を殺してやる」と繰り返し脅した。
この時、周囲には誰もおらず、二人のすぐ後ろには空っぽの車庫があった。（男がその気ならば、私は死ぬ）と、ポーリーは悟ったという。恐怖におびえ、泣きじゃくるポーリーが、やっと口にしたのが「ウィリアムって素敵な名前ね。私の甥っ子がウィリアムなのよ」。
この言葉を聞いた男は、さらに暴力を振るった後、「とっとと失せろ」とポーリーを解放。ポーリーはショック状態に陥りながらも、隣人と教会仲間である刑事にメールを送り、助けを呼んだという。文章の最後に、ポーリーは「今夜、私は死にかけた」と結んでいる。
その後、ポーリーの証言から作成したスケッチ画により、警察は暴行容疑で45歳のホームレス男を拘束。男の名前はウィリアムではなく、デヴィッドだった。
ポーリーは、現在、「NCIS ネイビー犯罪捜査班」の撮影中。現時点では、撮影に支障はないという。
