セスはサマーと友達になるべく自己中心的な自分を捨て、人に思いやりを持てる人間に生まれ変わると宣言する。地元に新しくできたライブ・ハウス、「ベイト・ショップ」でサマーの好きなザ・ウォークメンのライブがあると知ったセスは、サマーとザックにチケットをプレゼントするため、ベイト・ショップを仕切っているアレックスに強引に雇ってもらい、慣れない肉体労働を経てチケットを手に入れる。一方学校にポンコツの車でやってきた転校生リンジーに、ライアンは誤ってコーヒーをかけ、顔に肘てつをくらわせてしまう。
