バッファローで不動産仲介業の女性ミシェルが刺し殺され、犯人から警察宛にメールで映像ファイルが送られる。そこには犯人の自宅らしき部屋、途中に通った道や会話を交わした相手、刺される瞬間から死ぬまでの被害者の様子が9分にわたって収められていたが、犯人の自室内のモニターには他の刺殺事件の模様が映っていた。また、「助けて」というメッセージも。BAUは珍しくガルシアも連れてバッファローに向かう。
