入植記念日のパレードに出場したエレナたち。当時の衣装を着たエレナを見て、ステファンとデイモンはキャサリンと重ね合わせてしまう。一方、ジョンはギルバート家の古い建物へ。デイモンから取り戻した発明品の一部を装置に差し込めば、半径5ブロック以内にいるヴァンパイアを無力化できるのだ。
