サムは、事故死した男性が婚約者だと言って保険のための書類を受け取りに来たウクライナ人の女性2人組を怪しく思い、かつての同僚ジョー･ウィルソンが担当した事件を思い出す。その時もひき逃げで死亡した男性の親族だと言って、同じ女性2人が署に来た。ジョーは怪しく思っていたが決め手がなく取り逃がしていたのだ。
