９月１８日、第６３回プライムタイム・エミー賞(Primetime Emmy Awards)授賞式が行われました。
コメディ部門で作品賞・主演男優賞など計５部門でノミネートされていた「ビッグバン★セオリー ギークなボクらの恋愛法則」は、レナード役のジョニー・ガレッキ、シェルドン役のジム・パーソンズがダブルでノミネートされた主演男優賞で、ジム・パーソンズが見事受賞！ジム・パーソンズはこれでエミー賞主演男優賞を２年連続受賞の快挙達成です！
その「ビッグバン★セオリー ギークなボクらの恋愛法則」は、日本でも人気の「フレンズ」以来、久しぶりに男女間の友情や恋をテーマにして全米で大ヒットしているコメディ・ドラマ。全米ＣＢＳネットワークで２００７年秋にスタートし、２０１１年９月、シーズン５に突入予定。またイギリス、フランス、ドイツ、イタリア、スペイン、ブラジル、インド、オーストラリア、南アフリカなど、世界各国でも人気を集めています。本作の企画は「チャーリー・シーンのハーパー★ボーイズ」や、「ダーマ＆グレッグ」などをプロデュースしたアメリカンＴＶコメディの大物、チャック・ロリー。俳優たちがスタジオで観客の前で演じ、そのために観客の笑い声やどよめきが聞こえて盛り上がる"シットコム"（シチュエーション・コメディ）の傑作です。
