米ニールセン社が、2016－17期における18～49歳層のTV番組視聴率ランキングを発表した。調査時期は、2016年9月19日から2017年5月24日まで。スーパーボウルやアカデミー賞中継などの特番を除く。
1位から5位は、NFL（プロ・アメリカン・フットボール）のシーズン中継番組及び解説番組が独占だ。50位以内に他のプロスポーツは一切ランクインしておらず、NFLは今シーズンも全米人気NO.1スポーツの座を余裕でキープした。
NFLには完敗だが、ドラマ、コメディ、リアリティー番組の中でトップに立ったのは「ビッグバン★セオリー ギークなボクらの恋愛法則」（6位）。コメディでは「モダン・ファミリー」（12位）を大きく引き離し、安定した人気を証明した。
ドラマでは、「Empire 成功の代償」「This Is Us(原題)」などが上位入り。以下50位以内には、ベテラン・ドラマ・シリーズの「NCIS ネイビー犯罪捜査班」（17位）、「クリミナル・マインド」（31位）、「NCIS：LA 極秘潜入捜査班」（41位）、そしてそれぞれ48位に「SCORPION／スコーピオン」と「NCIS：ニューオーリンズ」がランクインしている。
