「メンタリスト」のサイモン・ベイカーが妻で女優のレベッカ・リグと所有する、オーストラリアの超人気エリア、ボンダイビーチの豪華アパートメントを売却することが分かった。
北ボンダイビーチ地区に位置するこのアパートメントは、前所有者がもともと2つの物件を一つに改築。ビーチの物件にありがちな狭さを感じさせない広々とした3ベッドルーム、2バスルームのファミリーサイズだ。
ベイカー夫妻は、このアパートメントを2014年に263万ドルで購入。2年後となる現在の販売価格は350万ドル程度が予想されているという。
オーストラリア出身のベイカー夫妻が、同国内に所有する不動産はこれだけではなかった。「メンタリスト」が米国で撮影中だった、2010年には、ナシュアに150万ドルで農場を購入。米国からオーストラリアに戻った2015年には、ブロンテに自宅として650万ドルの豪邸を購入している。
「メンタリスト」は、米CBSで2008年から7シーズン放送された、人気シリーズ。フランスを始め、米国外でも高視聴率を稼ぐことでも知られている。主演のサイモンは、2010年末にシーズン７までの出演料を含む3000万ドルの大型契約を結んで、TV高額ギャラ俳優の仲間入り。一話あたりの出演料が35万ドル以上に跳ね上がり、シーズン５以降は番組のプロデューサーに名前を連ねる権利を得ていたという。
