BAFTA英国アカデミー賞にノミネート（テレビ部門 主演男優賞 ジェイミー・ドーナン）されるなど高い評価を受ける、英のドラマシリーズ「THE FALL 警視ステラ・ギブソン」。待望のシーズン２が、イギリスで11月13日からスタートする。
女性警視ギブソン（ジリアン・アンダーソン）が追いつめる、殺人鬼スペクターを演じているジェイミー・ドーナンは、このドラマで俳優としてブレイク、ハリウッド話題の大作映画『フィフティ・シェイズ・オブ・グレイ』（来年2月日米同時公開予定）の主役の座を射止めている。
カルバン・クラインの下着モデルからハリウッドのセックスシンボルへの道を歩むジェイミーだが、実は今も外見について質問をされるのが苦手なようだ。英ガーディアン紙のインタビューで「自分がありえないほどハンサムだと気付いたのはいつ？」と質問された際には、「分からないよ、たぶんそんなふうに思ったことはないと思う」と頭を振る。学校でも特にモテた記憶はなく、「かわいい」と言われるのが嫌で仕方なかったと言う。「僕はいつも年下に見られてたから。姉の友だちからよく『かわいいね』と声を掛けられてたけど、それが死ぬほど嫌だった。やせっぽちの10代の少年にとっては、かわいいって言葉はタブーなんだ」
かわいい少年期の面影を残しつつ、32歳の今では鍛え抜かれた体に文学青年のような憂鬱な表情が魅力的なジェイミー。「これからの人生に何が起ころうとも、僕には『THE FALL 警視ステラ・ギブソン』がある」と、出世作となった同ドラマシリーズに大きな誇りを持つ。シーズン２ではどんな大人の男性の表情を見せてくれるのか楽しみだ。
