◆「メンタリスト」のオーウェン・イオマンが婚約！フィアンセとの出会いはドライブ中の信号待ち
「THE MENTALIST／メンタリストの捜査ファイル」のリグスビー役オーウェン・イオマンが、婚約を発表した。お相手はロサンゼルス在住のジュエリーデザイナー、ギギ・ヤロウズさん。来年６月カリフォルニア・マリブでの挙式を予定している。
二人の出会いは今年初めのこと。渋滞のひどいロサンゼルスで、二人はそれぞれの車を運転中、対向車線で信号待ちをしていた。ハンドルを握った二人が、お互い一目惚れだったのか、その場で電話番号を交換、すぐにデートを始めたという。
出会いは予期せぬものだったが、プロポーズには準備万端で臨んだとオーウェン。「プロポーズは自宅でした。500枚ものバラの花びらを散らし、キャンドルライトで通路を作り、たどりついたところに（オーウェンの愛犬）キャッシュが『彼と結婚してあげて！』と書いた紙をくわえて待っていたというわけです」
「キャッシュに、この紙は食べちゃダメと教えるのに時間がかかりました」と照れ笑いのオーウェン。リグスビー同様、オーウェン本人も恋にいちずな“ロマンチスト”のようだ。
