海外ドラマ最新レポート Vol.522 　ハリー・レニックス、「ブラックリスト」での自分の役割とは?

「ブラックリスト」で、FBIテロリズム対策本部長のハロルド・クーパーを演じているハリー・レニックスが、米NBCのインタビューに答えた。ファイナルシーズンを迎え、自身のキャラクターへの思いを語っている。
 
「シリーズを通して、僕の演じているクーパーは、ある意味、視聴者の目のような役割を果たしていたと思う」エリザベス(メーガン・ブーン)らチームのメンバーの上司であり、レディントン(ジェームズ・スペイダー)の動きを監視する立場にあったのがクーパーだ。
「レディントンとの協同体制では、どこまで戦いが続くのか終わりが見えなかった。その意味で視聴者の気持ちを反映しているんじゃないかな」数々のブラックリスター、結社、二転三転して一体“レディントン”とは何者なのか? クーパーは「ブラックリスト」の全10シーズンを通して、次々と生まれる謎に翻弄された。レディントンの出現により、大きく人生を狂わされた一人でもあった。だからこそ、10シーズンを走り抜けた今、クーパーの充実を願う。
 
「レディントンは何を企んでいたのか、何をしでかそうとしていたのか。それらがどうであれ、僕はクーパーと視聴者が満足してフィナーレを終えてほしいと思っている。『ブラックリスト』はフルコース料理のようなもの。デザートまでしっかり堪能してもらいたいんだ」10シーズンもの間、演じ続けた自身の愛すべきキャラクターと、長年の視聴者にはフィナーレで完全燃焼を願う。流行りのスピンオフや映画をも期待することなく、「ブラックリスト」との別れを満喫してほしいのだ。
「ブラックリスト ファイナル・シーズン」、目の肥えた視聴者を満足させるフィナーレに期待したい。
