2012年3月に放送された「ミッシング」は、主演のアシュレイ・ジャッドが製作総指揮にも名を連ねた、謎と衝撃が連鎖するアクション・ミステリー。出演は映画『ロード・オブ・ザ・リング』シリーズのショーン・ビーン、『ダイ・ハード4.0』のクリフ・カーティスほか。
本作の演技で、エミー賞ミニシリーズ部門の主演女優賞にノミネートされたアシュレイ・ジャッド。映画『コレクター』『ダブル・ジョパディー』で鍛え上げたアクションをスタントなしで演じきり、愛情深い母、元CIAの敏腕諜報員という相反する二つの顔を見事に表現した。体術、銃撃戦だけでない、ボートチェイスや爆弾解除など、見どころ満載のアクションは要注目だ。
ロケは、プラハ、ドゥブロブニク、ローマ、パリ、ウィーン、イスタンブールなど、ヨーロッパ各地の名所で行われ、その景観だけでもウットリしてしまう程。CIA、インターポールをはじめ、西ヨーロッパ全土の治安維持組織を巻き込んだサスペンスは美しい街並みと、謎が謎を呼ぶ脚本が大きな魅力だ。登場人物達の隠された顔が何重にも重なり合って、理解したと思った途端、裏切られる――。魅惑の都市とドラマの行方に注目だ。
