久々に長期休暇が与えられ、BAUチームは思い思いの2週間を過ごすことになる。ところが、エルが真夜中に殺人容疑で突然逮捕される。同じ頃、ホッチの家には謎の無言電話がかかり、ガルシアの部屋ではFBIのパソコンがハッキングされてダウン、ギデオンの山小屋には生首が届けられた。さらに翌日、再び療養所を訪れたリードの元にはカギとメッセージの入った封筒、オフィスで働くJJの元には蝶の標本とメッセージが届けられた。BAUはたった1日で休暇を切り上げ、捜査に乗り出す。
