俳優のブライアン・クランストンが、主演作の「ブレイキング・バッド」を宇宙ステーションで視聴してもらおうと、宇宙輸送を試みていたことを明らかにした。
米国人の宇宙飛行士スコット・ケリーさんは、国際宇宙ステーションで一年間の長期滞在中だ。そのスコットさんの双子の兄弟のマークさんも宇宙飛行士。マークさんは「ブレイキング・バッド」の大ファンだという。
人体における宇宙滞在の影響を実験中のスコットさんに、滞在期間の延長が決定した。その情報を聞きつけたブライアンは、スコットさんへエールを送りたかったのだろうか、未見だという「ブレイキング・バッド」のDVDを送ることを考えた。もちろん送り先は国際宇宙ステーションだ。
ブライアンは、サインをした「ブレイキング・バッド」DVDのフルセットを、準備万端で送りだした。宇宙に届けと、期待に胸を膨らませていたブライアンだが、夢は叶わず。輸送の宇宙ロケットが打ち上げに失敗したのだ。
それ以降、ブライアンに二度目のチャンスは訪れていない。ブライアンの分身ともいえる「ブレイキング・バッド」が、宇宙で視聴される日は来るのだろうか？
