シーズン１が素晴らしい出来だったとしても、その後のシーズンで下降していくTVシリーズは少なくない。一方で、シーズンを重ねるうち、設定が落ち着いてストーリーに磨きがかかる優れたシリーズも存在する。米有名エンタメサイトの「ザ・ラップ」は、シーズン２から一層おもしろくなったTVシリーズを紹介。中でも「レイ・ドノヴァン ザ・フィクサー」を大絶賛している。
米ではシーズン２が終了したばかりの「レイ・ドノヴァン ザ・フィクサー」。教会の性的虐待事件がフューチャーされたシーズン２は、前のシーズンと比べ、現実味が増して格段に良くなったと高評価。主人公の父親役を演じている、ジョン・ヴォイトについては「来年のエミー賞も（今年に続き）ノミネート間違いなし。受賞する可能性も十分」と鬼気迫る演技をベタ誉めだ。
「レイ・ドノヴァン ザ・フィクサー」シーズン２を絶賛しているのは、評論家だけではない。視聴者数もシーズン２に入って、うなぎ上りなのだ。実はシーズン２初回の視聴者数は、シーズン１の初回を9％もダウンして、関係者を心配させた。しかし回を追うごとに、評判が評判を呼び、人気は再上昇。9月28日のシーズン最終回では視聴者数200万人を集め、シーズン１最終回（141万人）と比べ、40％も数字をアップさせたのだ。
放送する、有料チャンネル Showtime は、すでにシーズン３の製作を発表。「レイ・ドノヴァン ザ・フィクサー」は、「デクスター ～警察官は殺人鬼」「HOMELAND」に続く、同チャンネルを代表する人気ドラマシリーズに成長したといえそうだ。
