◆「メンタリスト」のサイモン・ベイカー、親友ナオミ・ワッツと仲が良すぎて周囲はハラハラ？
「メンタリスト」で主役のパトリック・ジェーンを演じているサイモン・ベイカーと、映画『ザ・リング２』で共演した女優ナオミ・ワッツは、大の親友として知られている。
サイモンは豪女優の妻との間に3児、ナオミはパートナーである俳優リーヴ・シュレイバーとの間に２児と、共にそれぞれの家庭を築いている。家族ぐるみの付き合いを続けている彼らだが、最近どうにもサイモンとナオミの仲が良すぎると米誌が報じている。
二人が急接近したきっかけは、皮肉にもリーヴの仕事の都合。リーヴは現在放送中のドラマ「Ray Donovan」に主演しており、この撮影のために、一家で住み慣れたニューヨークからロサンゼルスへ引っ越したのだ。
TVの撮影で忙しいリーヴに対し、４歳と６歳の男の子を抱える母ナオミは、ニューヨークを離れ寂しい毎日。そんな心の隙間を埋めているのが親友サイモンというわけだ。「サイモンはLAに住んでいますからね。よくナオミと一緒にいるみたいです。リーヴはおもしろくないでしょう」と関係者。ゴシップがあっという間に広まるハリウッドで、二人の仲は密かな噂になっているという。
「男と女は（恋愛感情抜きに）親友となりうるか」は永遠のテーマ。サイモンとナオミの親友関係がどう進展するのか、気になるところ？
