◆今年のティーン・チョイス・アウォードが決定！ティーンの人気も高し「ヴァンパイア・ダイアリーズ」＆「ビッグバン★セオリー」
今年のティーン・チョイス・アウォード授賞式が、８月11日開催された。全米のティーンエイジャー（13～19歳）の一般投票にて選ばれる同アウォードは “人気投票”の色合いが強く、今年も“チョイス”（受賞）には、ジャスティン・ビーバー、ワン・ダイレクション、映画『トワイライト・サーガ／ブレイキング・ドーン Part 2』ら、人気者（作品）の名前が並んだ。
TV番組賞では、ファンタジー・SF部門で圧倒的な強さを誇る、「ヴァンパイア・ダイアリーズ」が今年も受賞。シーズン１から４年連続のぶっちぎり“チョイス”となった。また、主演のニーナ・ドヴレフとイアン・サマーハルダーもそれぞれファンタジー・SF部門の女優・男優賞を受賞。特にイアンが登場した際には、会場を埋めたティーンたちから熱い声援が飛んた。
コメディ部門においてノミネートされていた「ビッグバン★セオリー ギークなボクらの恋愛法則」は、主演のジム・パーソンズが男優賞に“チョイス”（番組賞は「Glee」が受賞）。「ビッグバン★セオリー ギークなボクらの恋愛法則」がギークだけじゃない、ティーンからも絶大な人気を得ていることを証明した。
