◆「ゴシップガール」、今だから話せる裏話 レイトン・ミースターはオーディションを20回受けていた！
米の「ゴシップガール」最終回放送に合わせた特別編で、キャスト及びクリエーターのジョシュ・シュワルツ、さらにプロデューサーのステファニー・サヴェージらが“今だから話せる「ゴシップガール」の裏話”を披露した。
サヴェージは、「匿名のブロガーが皆の行動をチェックして暴露するという設定はやみつきになると思った」と、セシリー・フォン・ジーゲザーの小説「ゴシップガール」を読んでヒットを直感。「この小説が書かれた2002年頃は、セレブのゴシップサイトもなかったから、『ゴシップガール』は時代を先取りしていたということになるわ」と胸をはる。
さらにシュワルツやサヴェージが特に力を入れたのがキャスティング。ブレア役のレイトン・ミースターは「『ゴシップガール』の脚本を読んで、ブレアを演じたいと思ったの。オーディションには20回は行ったわね」と、キャストされるまでの苦労を語る。ネイト役のチェイス・クロフォードは「たしか４度目の演技オーディションのときだと思うんだけど、回転椅子に座ってくるくる廻ってる女の子がいてね、あれがレイトンだったんだ。かわいかったなぁ～」と、当時を思い出したのかちょっぴりデレデレ。
時代を先取り、役にはまったキャスティングで、全世界でセンセーショナルな人気を呼んだ「ゴシップガール」。「ゴシップガール」で過ごした６年間を振り返り、ダン役のペン・バッジリーは、「（番組開始当初）20歳の僕は、出演料をもらいながら、６人の20代の仲間と同じ目標に向かって突き進んでいた。もうこれ以上望むものは何もないと思える経験だったよ」と、青春の１ページとなった思い出を語っている。
